This
tutorial contains step by steps instructions on how to install operating system
on your flash drive thus enabling you to format your system without the use of
Cd-Rom drives. This method is by far faster than using CD or DVD and works with
virtually all laptops. In this tutorial will cover how to install WINDOW XP,
VISTA, WINDOW 7, and Window 8 in not included.
Tools and softwares
needed to carry out this task
1.Original flash drive e.g Sandisk, Kingston,
Original memory-card. Note: the size of the flash to be used should be bigger than ISO to be installed.In this tutorial I
will use a 4gig sandisk to create a window 7 bootable flash drive.
2.Softcopy of the operating system you want to
install. Links to downloading operating system will is found below.
3.Download necessary softwares needed to create a
bootable flash drive here
FIRST
After download and extracting of the
files needed, install gizmo and winsetup from usb, and then restart your system.
Now you need to prepare your flash drive to enable the operating system to be
installed into the flash drive. You will need to format your usb device using
the usb formatter, insert the flash drive you want to use into your system,
select your flash from the drop down menu, select NTFS under file system use
any suitable name of your choice, select quick format and click on format.
SECOND
Now mount the ISO of the window
operating system you want to install using the steps shown below. Note that you
must have installed gizmo on your system and restarted before you can mount any
Iso image.
First way:
Right click on the Iso you want to mount and click mount and click Ok to mount.
Second way:
From the taskbar right click on gizmo icon, select Virtual drive and click on
mount image, select image from the location where it is saved on your computer
THIRD
Open winsetup from Usb your flash
drive will be detected automatically if you follow the first step exactly. Now
if you are installing window 2000, 2003,Xp, use the browse button at the top to
select your source which will be the Iso of window Xp which you mounted during
step 2. While for Window vista and Window 7 tick the Vista, 7, Pe box and
browse to the mounted Iso of your operating system. Picture below explains
better.

I will be installing window 7 Ultimate on a scandisk 4gig flash drive below are
screenshots of the installation on the flash drive.
NOTE:
Before you
click go to start the process do the following
1.
Disconnect
your internet
2.Stop
your antivirus temporarily till the process is completed.
3.Then
click go to start the installation process.
